Bayraklı Overpass Suspension Bridge, Izmir
Bayraklı Overpass Suspension Bridge, Izmir
The Bayraklı Overpass Bridge is of 126 m length; 85 tons of steel production and mounting was made for the main body, and a bored pile construction of 800 mm of diameter and 250 m of length had been accomplished for the construction foundation. The bridge’s main span of 92 m is hauled though 12 units of imported special tension bars with 75 m of length, which are fixed onto a steel belt. The steel belts with 65 m of length were produced in a concave form, and are fixed with special anchorage to 4 concrete pyramids constructed over the piles. The implementation of a steel belt suspended bridge hauled by tension bars has been realized for the first time in Turkey by YP Construction.
